Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"One of my favourite dining experiences in KL that tasted authentic and homely. The owner and his son were really nice and friendly and gave us superb recommendations. The fish was so fresh and delectable. Can’t recommend this enough!"
"Their food is reasonably priced with good portion and tastes decent. Must order their fish dishes. Fish is always fresh and reasonably priced too. The clams are good too, plump and juicy."
"Stumbled upon this place on Google Maps and was attracted by the enticing photos of their fish dishes. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the enthusiastic and talkative lady boss, who kindly introduced us to their offerings. We decided to order the small lala, steamed asam fish, sweet and sour pork, fried fish paste fuchuk+sui gao, and a vegetable dish. While most of the dishes were a bit underseasoned, the fish and lala were undeniably fresh. The sweet and sour pork, although well-fried, lacked the tangy sourness in its sauce, making it fall short of being the best we’ve had. The portion size turned out to be quite generous, we ended up overeating. The bill wasn’t exactly cheap, but it seemed to be in line with the standard prices in KL. The lady boss, while friendly, with her naturally loud and talkative character, unintentionally created a sense of pressure for us to order her recommendations. Having a menu available for reference would have been helpful in such situations. Despite this, the overall experience was pleasant, but there is room for improvement, particularly regarding menu accessibility."
"A hidden and no frills place with great Chinese tai chow food. Excellent steam fish! Like 海石甲,面花斑,鱼唇. Dishes not too salty in flavours but with great wok hei. Must try!!"
"Found this spot on Google after someone called it a “hidden gem in an industrial area,” so we gave it a try while craving Chinese food. We had the asam steamed fish (sauce was a bit runny), baby kailan (really good with plain rice), and butter prawns which came wet without us being asked, and sadly didn’t hit the mark in flavour. I’d still come back to try their other signature dishes, hopefully a better pick next time."
"Well hidden in an industrial area, not visible from main road. Can only locate this place via navigation. Its an old store runs by a couple. The ladyboss was very helpful in ordering/recommending the dishes to regular customers. Food taste okay, not great but price is on the higher side compared to other similar choices. Parking is available with no charge, open till 10pm. Last call would be 9pm. No air conditioned only open space."
"I will call this place as hidden gems as the food is really good!!!! Unexpected taste and method of cooking there! The ladyboss is funny in her own way. She's just friendly although you might misinterpret her tone... Place is old but acceptable as not too dirty. Parking is easy and available right in front of the shop. Will go back whenever nearby."
"Head chef/boss has 40 years of experiences in culinary. Himself was the one who recommended the 5 dishes we had. All tasted superb especially the fried pork and 3 taste chicken. He has his own recipe and that’s why they taste different. You can’t find anywhere else. Will definitely go back and try other dishes. Female boss served us good as well. Gave each of us, 6 persons, complementary herbal tea which taste great as well. She made it herself."
